Software Engineer – National Security West

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to join our team following continuous growth and success in the UK Government sector.
• We need a good understanding of back-end programming languages, including Java, C++, Node.JS, Python, and C.
• We are looking for someone with the desire to solve complex technical problems and help our customers achieve their goals.
• We want someone with the aspiration to learn new skills and improve themselves where possible.
• Knowledge of cloud engineering such as AWS, Docker, and Microservices is desirable but not essential.
• We need someone who can work as part of a team, share knowledge, and contribute to our Agile ways of working.
• Applicants must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard as a minimum.
• Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, which may require 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, coding, testing, correcting, and documenting simple programs.
• Assisting in the implementation of software that forms part of a properly engineered information or communications system.
• Providing accurate estimates of development effort needed to design, code, and test software from given specifications.
• Focusing on data processing.
• Working on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Mentoring junior level developers and providing oversight where applicable.
• Logically analysing code defects and producing timely code fixes.
