Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience across both frontend and backend engineering
• Excellent React and TypeScript capability
• Strong backend development experience, ideally including Python
• Good experience with APIs, databases, SQL, and system integrations
• A track record of leading projects or taking ownership of major technical workstreams
• Experience building customer-facing software from scratch
• Strong product instincts and the ability to think beyond individual tickets
• Confidence making technical decisions and working with a high level of autonomy
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Positive, proactive, collaborative, and genuinely enthusiastic approach to building great software
• Startup or scale-up experience
• Energy, utilities, trading, sustainability, or fintech experience
• Data visualisation experience
• Experience working with Databricks or similar data platforms
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools
• Previous involvement in shaping engineering teams, standards, or architecture

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of customer-facing products from initial concept through to production
• Build modern frontend applications using React and TypeScript
• Design and develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and application logic
• Work with Python, SQL, databases, and data platforms
• Take ownership of architecture, technical decisions, and engineering standards
• Turn complex energy and operational data into clear, intuitive product experiences
• Work closely with product, data, leadership, and external engineering partners
• Build a scalable and maintainable codebase from the ground up
• Help define the future engineering team and technical direction as the business expands

We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build the next generation of customer-facing software in the energy market. We operate in a complex, high-value sector and are using technology, data, and strong product thinking to modernise an industry that has historically been underserved by great software. The role is permanent and remote, with occasional collaboration at our Mayfair office in London. We offer a salary of 85,000 to 105,000 plus bonus, real autonomy over what gets built and how it is delivered, direct influence over product and technical direction, support from external engineering resources when required, and long-term scope to help build and shape the engineering function.
