SAP Developer
Job Description
Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for someone who is degree-qualified or has equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- We need strong SAP R/3 and ABAP development experience.
- We require experience supporting and delivering business-critical enterprise applications within a large organisation.
- We value working knowledge of formal systems development and delivery methodologies.
- We are looking for broad understanding of IT technologies, applications, and business systems.
- We need strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- We require excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- It would be advantageous to have experience within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience with SAP Business Process Automation by Redwood (formerly CPS Job Scheduler) would be desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant programming languages, enterprise applications, databases, and integration technologies would be beneficial.
- Understanding of systems engineering and IT governance disciplines, including requirements management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis, and quality management would be an advantage.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and managing application-related supplier relationships would be desirable.
- We collaborate with business and functional teams to deliver technology solutions that meet organisational requirements.
- We work closely with stakeholders to ensure systems and enhancements are delivered effectively and on schedule.
- We provide day-to-day application support, including incident resolution, service requests, system enhancements, and configuration changes.
- We support the deployment of new business applications and system implementations.
- We maintain the availability, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications.
- We deliver support within agreed service levels, resolving incidents and implementing preventative maintenance activities.
- We participate in out-of-hours support activities when required to support key business processes.
- We gather, analyse, and document business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- We perform systems analysis, application development, testing, and deployment activities.
- We design and analyse data structures and application integrations.
- We develop, enhance, maintain, and support application interfaces and integrations.
- We investigate and resolve application issues, identifying opportunities for process and system improvement.
- We support the integration of applications to ensure effective data exchange across the technology landscape.
- We contribute to system implementation projects, including user training, support, and problem resolution.
- We create and maintain technical and user documentation.
- We monitor and manage work requests through Helpdesk and Change Control processes.
- We maintain configuration and change management records, ensuring application architecture and system documentation remain current.
- We work collaboratively with third-party suppliers and software vendors to deliver requirements and resolve issues.
- We ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of systems and information assets.
- We travel occasionally to other business locations and partner organisations as required.
