Principal Cyber Researcher

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
• We require strong working knowledge of Linux-based systems, including command-line tools and system configuration.
• We require excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• We require a solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, and ICMP.
• We require demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability, with a methodical and inquisitive approach to technical problems.
• We require experience in rapid prototyping using technologies such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and virtualised environments.
• We require a proven track record of managing research projects from concept through delivery.
• We require eligibility and willingness to gain SC and enhanced DV clearance.

Responsibilities:

• We conduct deep-dive research in vulnerability discovery, reverse engineering, and embedded systems.
• We design and build rapid prototypes to validate novel cyber capabilities and concepts.
• We analyse network protocols and system behaviours to identify security weaknesses.
• We collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver research outcomes and technical solutions.
• We document methodologies, findings, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
• We manage small research teams, track progress, and report to customers.
• We contribute to our Cyber Research Groups strategic planning and operational management.
• We support business development efforts, including proposal writing and technical briefings.
