Integration Architect

Salary: £85,000 - 120,000 per year

Requirements:

• 15+ years in technology, including 5+ years in integration architecture
• Proven delivery experience in large-scale financial or fintech systems
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, ideally in a banking domain
• Experience with NATS is required; Kafka or Pulsar experience is acceptable
• Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management capability
• Experience leading multi-team integrations
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST, or gRPC
• Experience with AWS services such as EKS, ECS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, or Terraform
• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the target-state integration architecture aligned with enterprise standards
• Lead end-to-end integration delivery across multiple systems and teams
• Design event-driven, API-first, cloud-native solutions using NATS, REST, and async messaging
• Create architecture artefacts such as blueprints, APIs, and ADRs
• Act as the integration authority across platforms and stakeholders
• Mentor teams on integration patterns, API governance, and best practices
• Drive the use of AI tools to improve development efficiency
• Support real-time Ledger, Payments, and FX systems integration within a large banking platform
