Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or the equivalent.
  • We have verbal and written communication skills and are fluent in English.
  • We are comfortable in customer discussions.
  • We have experience with network equipment such as firewalls, switches, and GPS clocks, as well as redundant network designs and protocols.
  • We have experience with Microsoft client and server operating systems, virtual and bare metal, from legacy to current generations.
  • We have experience with Active Directory, including integration with third-party devices and appliances.
  • We have experience with databases and high-availability solutions.
  • We have experience with scripting languages and automation technologies.
  • We have experience with port, vulnerability, and malware scanners and can understand and communicate their output.
  • We have knowledge of intrusion detection systems, security information event monitoring, application control, and other security-relevant systems.
  • We have database management and SQL experience.
  • We have experience in SCADA projects, which is an added advantage.
  • We have HMI application development experience with Intouch.
  • We have experience with backup and image handling on servers and workstations, as well as patch management.
  • We have exposure to, or basic knowledge of, international electrical IEEE and IEC standards.
  • We have basic knowledge of C/C++, which is an added advantage.
  • We have experience in establishing controls over any medium used as a backdoor into the SCADA network.
Responsibilities:
  • We lead system, network, and cybersecurity implementations in HVDC projects.
  • We build complete network and systems infrastructure to support operations.
  • We ensure systems and networks maintain defined cybersecurity levels.
  • We develop architecture and functional descriptions for future HVDC cybersecurity solutions.
  • We prepare and perform test case scenarios and participate in FST.
  • We support projects in resolving issues related to cybersecurity functions.
  • We coordinate with stakeholders across business units to optimise cybersecurity solutions in HVDC.
  • We design and develop secured network architecture for SCADA systems with advanced cybersecurity features.
  • We evaluate, monitor, and validate third-party security patches to maintain system reliability.
  • We implement security features provided by device and system vendors.
  • We establish strong controls over any medium used as a backdoor into the SCADA network.
  • We implement internal and external intrusion detection systems in the SCADA network.
  • We perform VAPT and technical audits of SCADA devices, networks, and connected networks to identify security concerns.
  • We conduct physical security surveys and assess remote sites connected to the SCADA network.
  • We maintain the test environment with updated software and hardware for current and future use.
  • We manage backup and image handling on servers and workstations, as well as patch management.
  • We actively identify and capture opportunities for improvement.
  • We work with customers, both internally and externally, to ensure delivery meets requirements and standards.
  • We collaborate and network with engineering colleagues and share best practices across projects and disciplines.
  • We may travel abroad and participate in building power stations around the world.
