Helpdesk Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least three years experience in an IT support role
• Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Solid experience installing and configuring firewalls, network switches, desktop computers, laptops, server hardware and storage devices
• Good working knowledge of IP networking, Remote Desktop Services, Azure, Virtual Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VPN and IIS
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune and Defender
• Proactive and customer-focused approach
• MS technical certification such as AZ-900, AZ-104 or similar is desirable
• Hyper-V or other hypervisor experience is desirable
• Experience supporting handheld devices is desirable
• Experience working with Mac, iOS, Android and Linux is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support to customers
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, server and networking issues
• Support Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server environments
• Build, configure and maintain LANs, servers and private cloud infrastructure
• Install and configure firewalls, switches, servers, storage devices, desktops and laptops
• Create and maintain technical documentation for customer environments
• Accurately record incidents, changes and resolutions
• Occasionally travel to customer sites to provide onsite support and installations
