Freelance AV Engineer

Requirements:

• We are seeking freelance or contract AV/VC Engineers across the UK.
• We need candidates who are available for a quick start.
• We require customer-facing, corporate experience providing technical support across audio visual, video conferencing, displays, and presentations.
• This role will suit experienced freelancers, people looking for additional days or weeks of work, or candidates seeking a short- to medium-term opportunity.
• For service engineer work, we want experience in fault finding and resolution, on-site repairs, component replacement, and detailed reporting and documentation.
• For installation engineer work, we want experience installing and integrating AV/IT systems, including broadcast systems, displays, signage, video conferencing solutions, audio setups, and control systems.
• We need the ability to interpret written directives, schematic diagrams, M&E drawings, and cable structures.
• We require experience with first fix cable routing, cable pulling, cable identification, and progress logging in working documents and schematics.

Responsibilities:

• We work on-site at financial institutions and large corporate customer sites across the UK.
• We provide technical support involving all aspects of audio visual and video conferencing systems.
• We identify and resolve issues with AV systems through troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
• We perform on-site repairs and component replacements to minimize downtime.
• We create detailed service reports after each visit, documenting faults, actions taken, and any further maintenance or remedial actions required.
• We install and integrate a diverse range of AV/IT systems, including broadcast systems, displays, signage, video conferencing solutions, audio setups, and control systems.
• We interpret written directives, schematic diagrams, M&E drawings, and cable structures.
• We complete first fix cable routing, pulling, cable identification, and progress logging in working documents and schematics.
