Desktop Support Engineer

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience working in an on-site IT support role
• Strong experience supporting Windows desktop environments
• Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, peripherals, software applications, and user access
• Experience with user onboarding and offboarding processes
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software
• Experience managing IT assets, inventory tracking, and equipment lifecycle processes
• Ability to support local IT infrastructure and assist with system changes and releases
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
• Ability to work closely with users in person

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site IT support to users and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, peripherals, software applications, and user access
• Support user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, equipment provisioning, and access management
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software
• Manage IT assets, inventory tracking, and equipment lifecycle processes
• Assist with the coordination and maintenance of local IT infrastructure
• Assist with testing and deployment of system changes and releases
• Provide remote support to users when required

We are a leading international organisation based in our Guildford office, and we are offering a fully on-site Desktop Support Engineer contract role for 4 to 6 months. This is a hands-on position supporting a busy IT team during a period of increased workload, with working hours of Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in person with users, solving technical problems, and contributing to the maintenance and administration of local IT infrastructure. The salary for this role is £45,000, equivalent to £23.07 per hour, and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
