Job Description

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Relevant work experience in data science, machine learning, and business analytics
  • Practical experience in coding languages such as Python, R, Scala, with Python preferred
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, ETL, No-SQL, DW, and big data technologies such as pySpark and Hive
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data such as text, PDFs, JPGs, call recordings, and video
  • Knowledge of machine learning modelling techniques and how to fine-tune those models, such as XGBoost, Deep Neural Networks, Transformers, and Markov chains
  • Experience using specialised machine learning libraries such as Fastai, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face
  • Capacity to read, understand, and implement new machine learning techniques as they emerge
  • Experience using cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with specialised visualisation techniques such as D3.js and ggplot
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and data presentation skills
  • Awareness of large language models and enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in the field
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly and apply creative thinking to finding solutions and driving implementation
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and solutioning skills
  • Proven background in statistics, mathematics, or macroeconomics
Responsibilities:
  • Solve challenging business problems using advanced machine learning methods and quantitative analytics
  • Understand business requirements and support the development of business cases
  • Run discovery analytics to identify new and innovative opportunities
  • Partner with developers and engineers to deploy machine learning algorithms that deliver business value
  • Define approaches to embed and scale machine learning models
  • Build reusable assets, solutions, and best practices for current and future business problems
  • Consult on complex analyses and advanced machine learning methods
  • Communicate with and provide guidance to senior client leadership and teams
  • Contribute data science expertise to new sales activities
  • Shape data science strategy and the delivery of data science solutions
  • Operate across multiple industries and functions
  • Develop others by bringing unique knowledge and skillsets to the wider practice
