AI Data Architect (Fraud and Cyber)

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in the design, development, training, validation and optimisation of machine learning models for fraud detection and financial crime use cases.
• Fraud detection model development experience using techniques such as gradient boosting, random forests, neural networks, ensemble models and graph-based analytics.
• Model evaluation, performance tuning and explainability experience.
• Data science and statistical modelling background, including hypothesis testing, probability, feature selection and experimentation.
• MLOps experience, including model deployment, versioning, monitoring, retraining and lifecycle management.
• Cloud-native machine learning architecture experience using Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, Azure AI Foundry or equivalent platforms.
• Experience in real-time and batch fraud detection architectures, including streaming analytics and event-driven processing.
• Knowledge of fraud detection, AML and financial crime solutions.
• Experience integrating ML models into operational workflows and case management platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of AI/ML and data platform solutions.
• Partner closely with stakeholders to define technology roadmaps, shape future-state architectures and ensure successful solution delivery.
• Provide architectural leadership and governance, ensuring solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies, recommending architectural patterns and reusable components, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and business outcomes.
• Embed Responsible AI and security-by-design principles across all solutions and incorporate controls.
• Influence strategic technology decisions and investment priorities, acting as a trusted advisor while contributing to architecture standards and design practices.
• Lead the design and delivery of the Fraud and Cyber AI systems initiative.
