AS400 Specialist

Salary: £35,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong AS400 / IBM i knowledge
• Good SQL and report writing skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Confidence to investigate issues independently
• Experience with data analysis and system processes
• Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment would be an advantage

Responsibilities:

• Investigating and resolving AS400 / IBM i system issues
• Writing and enhancing reports and SQL queries
• Analysing and validating data
• Troubleshooting system and process failures
• Documenting findings and providing clear recommendations
• Developing sustainable solutions to improve processes

We are offering a 3-month temporary contract for a hands-on AS400 / IBM i Support Specialist to join our established team in Thornbury. This role is based on Monday to Friday hours, either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, with pay at £18-£25 per hour depending on experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys investigating problems, getting to the root cause, and finding practical, long-term solutions.
