Software Engineering Manager, Android Platform

Salary: £46,000 - 86,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience developing and managing a high-performance software engineering team
• Proven technical knowledge in Android platform technology across native C/C++, Java and Kotlin layers
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with internal product owners and external partners to achieve alignment on benchmarks, technical specifications and interdependencies
• Expertise as a software engineer, and a working familiarity with C++, C# and Java
• Ability to assimilate and understand a large and complex software product
• English language proficiency for professional verbal and written exchanges

Responsibilities:

• Own and drive the near-term execution and technical strategy for our team
• Collaborate internally with core Unity engine, platform, and graphics teams
• Communicate our teams vision and progress internally and externally
• Foster a high-performance, supportive culture by mentoring and coaching our team, and actively guiding professional development and career growth
• Lead the team delivering Unity platform support for an Android-based ecosystem across mobile to laptop form factors
• Research and deliver runtime optimizations to help Unity games start faster and run well on low and high spec devices
• Establish benchmarks, collaborate with internal and external experts on performance analysis, and align with stakeholders to deliver measured improvements
• Leverage AI workflows in analysis and delivery where appropriate, and enable targeted AI workflows for developers
