System Architect

Salary: £49,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• BEng/MEng and proven experience designing mixed-signal ICs, including some experience making IC architectural decisions
• Significant experience architecting, specifying, and designing low-power mixed-signal components for consumer, industrial, automotive, or healthcare markets
• Good knowledge of analog and mixed-signal IC design techniques, including audio circuit design, codec architectures, low-power design techniques, silicon processes, and transducers
• Broad system-level knowledge across a wider application space
• Strong analytical and modelling skills

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with tier 1 customers, marketing, design, software, and applications teams to define next-generation solutions for consumer, industrial, and automotive electronics markets
• Detail system and performance requirements for IC and accompanying firmware features
• Determine hardware/software trade-off analysis for key features and requirements, defining the optimal system implementation
• Establish architecture definitions for complex IC/SoC designs involving power converters, class AB/D amplifiers, DACs/ADCs, charge pumps, and advanced Digital Signal Processors
• Lead architecture reviews and participate in IC-level and board-level design reviews with design engineering, applications, validation, and product test engineers
• Work with Design Engineering, Advanced Technology, and IP teams on novel solutions to satisfy product and customer needs
• Contribute significantly to business planning around the Analog and Mixed Signal technology function
• Communicate ideas and specifications to technical audiences, both internal and external
• Act as the technical voice of the customer back into portfolio planning and product development processes
• Understand customer architectures, roadmaps, and likely evolution, and work with Marketing to propose the best technical solutions to enhance customer products
• Keep abreast of the competitive environment influencing the customer
