Job Description

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Relevant work experience in data science, machine learning, and business analytics
  • Practical experience in coding languages such as Python, R, Scala, with Python preferred
  • Strong proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, ETL, No-SQL, DW, and Big Data technologies such as pySpark and Hive
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data such as text, PDFs, JPGs, call recordings, and video
  • Knowledge of machine learning modelling techniques and how to fine-tune models such as XGBoost, Deep Neural Networks, Transformers, ResNets, VAEs, GANs, and Markov chains
  • Experience using specialized machine learning libraries such as Fastai, Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face
  • Capacity to read, understand, and implement new techniques in machine learning as they emerge
  • Experience using cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with specialised visualisation techniques such as D3.js and ggplot
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and data presentation skills
  • Ability to lead large projects and drive them through to completion
  • Mastery of problem solving and solutioning
  • Proven history and background in statistics, mathematics, or macroeconomics
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire teams of Data Scientists
  • Create bespoke machine learning solutions to model and solve problems, and help develop the team
  • Solve challenging business problems using advanced machine learning methods such as Deep Learning and quantitative analytics
  • Understand business requirements and support the development of business cases
  • Run discovery analytics to identify new and innovative opportunities
  • Partner with developers and engineers to deploy, embed, and scale machine learning models to deliver complex and critical projects
  • Devise reusable assets and solutions, and develop best practices for current and future business problems
  • Lead analytical discussions and influence the analytical direction of client teams
  • Communicate and provide guidance to senior client leadership and teams
  • Contribute data science expertise to new sales activities
