Principal Systems Engineer

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience owning requirements, architecture, and technical delivery.
• Experience within the defense industry.
• Strong systems engineering background in complex products or platforms.
• Proven integration, test, and qualification experience.
• Ability to solve challenging multidisciplinary engineering problems.
• Experience leading suppliers, partners, or subcontractors.
• Confident engaging customers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• We own system requirements, architecture, and technical direction.
• We act as the senior technical authority for a complex engineering programme.
• We lead multidisciplinary design, integration, and problem-solving activities.
• We direct and challenge suppliers, partners, and specialist engineering teams.
• We drive verification, validation, and product qualification.
• We engage customers and stakeholders while shaping systems engineering best practice.
• We travel across the UK and occasionally internationally to support customers, suppliers, trials, and engineering partners.
