Virtualisation and Storage Infrastructure Architect

Salary: £34,500 - 46,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven infrastructure architecture and design experience
• Strong communication and customer service focus
• Excellent technical network and security knowledge
• Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture & Design experience across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Deep expertise in virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, and virtualization strategies
• Strong knowledge of disaster recovery planning, replication technologies, and RTO/RPO alignment
• Proficiency in SAN/NAS design, Fibre Channel networking, and enterprise backup/recovery platforms such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, and LTO libraries
• Experience with large-scale data centre migrations, infrastructure refreshes, workload consolidation, and cross-platform integration
• Skills in network design, firewall rule flow, VLANs, VPNs, Cisco infrastructure, and secure access architecture
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Okta, Microsoft PKI, and certificate lifecycle management
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver under pressure and on deadline
• Experience producing high-quality technical design documentation
• Experience designing and operating infrastructure in highly regulated, security-conscious environments
• Desirable: familiarity with enterprise ITSM tools such as ServiceNow
• Desirable: experience working across multiple customers with complex IT estates
• Desirable: next-generation monitoring experience such as DataDog or New Relic
• Desirable: GitHub experience
• Desirable: project management certifications such as PRINCE2
• Desirable: ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management

Responsibilities:

• Support multiple clients across multiple technologies
• Mentor junior team members
• Consult with customers and work across cross-team environments
• Document and develop designs, processes, and procedures
• Work within a structured ITIL / ISO20000 IT Service Management environment
• Work directly with clients to gather requirements, design solutions, build proof of concepts, and implement solutions
• Deliver presentations and reporting based on customer-facing and on-site experience
• Act as an escalation point for major incidents and investigations
