Mobile Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year
Requirements:- We expect hands-on experience developing and shipping Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) projects, including shared business logic and platform-specific implementations.
- We expect a strong background in either Android (Kotlin) or iOS development with an understanding of mobile app architecture patterns.
- We expect experience building SDKs, libraries, or frameworks that other developers consume, with a focus on API design and developer experience.
- We expect an understanding of payments, NFC technology, financial transaction processing, and banking.
- We expect advanced Kotlin expertise, including language features, coroutines, and multiplatform-specific APIs.
- We expect an understanding of shared code strategies, expect/actual patterns, and platform-specific implementations.
- We expect experience with RESTful services, secure communication protocols, and third-party API integration.
- We expect strong testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.
- We expect awareness of secure coding practices, especially for financial and payment applications.
- Preferred: experience with payment processing systems, EMV standards, or financial technology.
- Preferred: knowledge of NFC technology, contactless payment protocols, or mobile payment frameworks.
- Preferred: background in modular architecture, dependency injection, and clean architecture principles.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment for multi-platform projects.
- Preferred: experience with design tools such as Figma and Canva.
- Preferred: strong organisation, project management skills, communication, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- We develop cross-platform mobile applications using Kotlin.
- We write clean, maintainable, and secure code to solve complex business problems.
- We prioritise performance, scalability, and maintainability in our development work.
- We integrate APIs and SDKs, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- We focus on delivering a modern, intuitive, and user-friendly experience for merchants across Europe.
- We collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- We participate in architecture design, framework selection, and tool evaluation.
- We mentor and support team members in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
- We continuously improve applications and apply automation best practices to reduce waste and error.
- We work within Agile/Scrum methodologies to support timely delivery, iterative improvements, and collaboration.
- We build mobile applications that support payments acceptance, business account services, card issuing, and ePOS systems.
- We incorporate technologies for offline capabilities, secure data storage, push notifications, and deep linking.
- We ensure seamless app upgrades and support internationalisation and localisation.
- We collaborate with design and product teams to deliver a compelling user experience.
- We contribute to CI/CD pipelines, scalable logging, and observability practices.
- We embrace clean architecture principles across Domain, Application, Infrastructure, and Presentation layers.
- We participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- We work with Product Owners to refine requirements and deliver incremental value in each sprint.
