Technical Lead

Salary: £49,000 - 66,000 per year

Requirements:

• Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns, including microservices and message-driven architectures
• Hands-on developing/coding experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or React
• Hands-on developing/coding experience with backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Understanding of non-functional requirements and experience developing applications with these in mind
• Strong experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), including writing unit and integration tests and maintaining a robust testing suite
• Experience developing REST-based APIs
• Strong experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Packer, and Docker
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift for containerisation and orchestration
• Experience developing and deploying solutions on AWS Cloud, with expertise in AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and EC2
• AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect preferred
• Ability to lead and coordinate stakeholder engagements and meetings
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based software applications
• Provide technical leadership within a team to coordinate and deliver scalable, secure solutions in line with good industry software engineering practices
• Work within a project management/agile delivery methodology
• Take technical ownership for a product or software solution, covering design, estimation, shaping, and user story/requirement creation
• Document solutions, including architecture, configuration, release, and support handover
• Collaborate and liaise with Version 1 and customer stakeholders/end users throughout the software development lifecycle, including PMs, BAs, Testing, and Product teams
• Communicate technical designs clearly in conversation, documentation, and presentations to stakeholders of varying technical abilities
• Provide effective knowledge transfer to team members and customers
• Manage, coach, and develop junior members of the team and the wider community
• Foster a positive working environment and facilitate team collaboration and communication
