Job Description

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for substantial experience building, training, and productionising machine learning models at scale, including modern deep learning and large language model approaches.
  • We need deep production Python experience and strong software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, event-driven architectures, and observability.
  • We require strong mathematical and statistical foundations, with the ability to apply techniques rigorously and defensibly.
  • We are looking for experience leading the architectural design of MLOps platforms, including training pipelines, feature and vector stores, serving infrastructure, and drift and performance monitoring.
  • We need experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS, containerised infrastructure including Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, and Argo Workflows, event brokers such as Kafka, and modern data engineering workflows including batch, streaming, and ETL.
  • We are looking for experience turning scientific or product briefs into ML work that ships and delivers measurable value, while pushing back where feasibility, data quality, or risk make goals unrealistic.
  • We need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and engineers and produce actionable technical documentation.
  • We are looking for a track record of coaching ML engineers at every level and helping Recruiting improve the hiring process.
  • Nice to have: experience applying ML, LLMs, and agentic AI in AML, KYC, fraud, RegTech, or another regulated domain.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with knowledge graphs, entity resolution, link analysis, and temporal reasoning over relationship data.
  • Nice to have: experience designing evaluation frameworks for LLM and agentic systems, including safety, accuracy, and operational guardrails.
  • Nice to have: an external profile in the ML community, such as speaking at conferences, contributing to publications, or open-source projects.
Responsibilities:
  • We lead the architectural design and implementation of our company-wide MLOps and agentic AI platforms, covering training, evaluation, serving, feature and vector stores, and agent orchestration.
  • We translate the ML and agentic AI roadmaps into scalable engineering deliverables, ensuring production builds adhere to data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • We set the engineering bar across the organization for code quality, rigorous evaluation design, operational standards, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • We lead the end-to-end engineering build-out of AI systems pioneered and prototyped by Data Science, including LLMs, retrieval augmented generation, multi-agent systems, and graph neural networks.
  • We represent ComplyAdvantage at conferences and industry forums.
  • We coach ML engineers at every level and help improve the hiring process.
