Databricks Data Engineer

Salary: £54,000 - 94,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Databricks experience.
• Proven data ingestion experience.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with Databricks Lakeflow.
• Strong SQL and API integration skills.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture.
• Strong Python skills.
• Experience with dbt.
• Experience with incremental and batch data ingestion.
• Immediate availability or ability to start within 1-2 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Databricks.
• Connect to multiple data sources including SQL databases, APIs, and Azure services.
• Develop pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks Lakeflow.
• Implement appropriate ingestion strategies including incremental and batch loads.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using Databricks Medallion Architecture.
• Write and maintain Python data engineering code.
• Use dbt for data transformation and modelling.
• Ensure pipelines are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

We are a large, global organisation seeking an experienced Databricks Data Engineer / Data Ingestion Engineer for a 6-month contract at 550 a day outside IR35. The role is UK hybrid/remote and focused on building robust data pipelines within a modern Azure/Databricks environment.
