Production Engineer SQL & Cloud Support
Job Description
Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year
Requirements:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Production Support, Application Support, DBA, or Engineering Support
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL
- Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments
- Experience with patching, upgrades, and migrations
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience in telecom OSS/BSS systems is a plus
- Knowledge of Python, Docker, or MicroStrategy is a plus
- AWS, Microsoft, or SQL certifications are a plus
- Experience working with global customers and 24x7 systems is a plus
- Provide production and application support for live systems
- Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Troubleshoot performance issues, database errors, and system outages
- Perform database maintenance, including backups, indexing, monitoring, and recovery
- Execute application patches, upgrades, and releases with minimal downtime
- Plan and perform data refreshes and database migrations across environments
- Support cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EC2, EBS, backups, and monitoring
- Analyze root causes of incidents and implement long-term fixes
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams on issue status

We are a telecom/software company focused on OSS and BSS solutions, supporting live production systems used by global customers. This is a full-time, permanent remote role based in Europe, with occasional on-call or shift support. You will work remotely with a global team on mission-critical systems, gaining exposure to cloud infrastructure, databases, and enterprise-scale production environments, with opportunities to grow into senior engineering or DevOps roles. Our standard shifts run from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to adjust to a 24x7 rotation when required to meet SLA commitments.
