Senior Linux, AIX & Oracle Database Administrator

Salary: £43,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA with strong enterprise or banking experience.
• We need proven expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle performance tuning.
• We require hands-on Linux administration experience, ideally with RHEL or Oracle Linux.
• We need strong IBM AIX system administration experience.
• We are looking for advanced SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix shell scripting skills.
• Experience supporting Oracle Flexcube environments is required.
• We need a strong understanding of banking infrastructure and financial systems architecture.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as OEM and Nagios is required.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management practices is required.
• We need strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Desirable: experience with Oracle WebLogic.
• Desirable: exposure to automation and configuration management tooling.

Responsibilities:

• We administer, optimise, and support Oracle databases within mission-critical banking environments.
• We manage and maintain Red Hat Linux and IBM AIX server infrastructure hosting core banking applications.
• We perform database and OS patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity optimisation.
• We support Oracle Flexcube and Oracle ERP platforms to ensure high availability and operational resilience.
• We implement and manage Oracle backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
• We troubleshoot complex infrastructure and database issues in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.
• We automate operational tasks through shell scripting and system administration tooling.
• We support disaster recovery planning, testing, and incident response activities.
• We ensure systems remain compliant with internal security standards and regulatory requirements.
• We produce and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
