Python Developer / Team Lead - London

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong software engineering best practices and full SDLC experience.
• We need team leadership experience, including mentoring and developing others, running 1-2-1s, and carrying out performance reviews.
• We value strong knowledge of cloud-based services; GCP experience is preferred, though AWS or Azure experience is also acceptable.
• We want experience building APIs, ideally with FastAPI.
• We require solid knowledge of CI/CD, testing, and deployment.
• We expect a thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
• We are looking for someone who is collaborative, pragmatic, and an excellent communicator.
• We prefer candidates who are degree educated in a STEM discipline with a 2.1 or above.

Responsibilities:

• We are looking for someone to lead a small, talented tech team.
• We want you to deliver new features, enhancements, and refactoring work for our core banking platform.
• We expect you to contribute hands-on across architecture and design, as well as people management.
• We need you to set technical standards and mentor more junior developers.
