Software Engineer - Midlothian

Salary: £72,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with extensive programming experience and a product engineering mindset.

• You should have extensive experience in similar roles building technically complex products in any web programming language.
• You should have expert-level experience in server-side, client-side, or full stack development.
• You should care deeply about quality and testing.
• You should be eager to learn new technologies and frameworks.
• You should have strong communication skills.
• Bonus points if you have experience using AI coding tools during development, building AI-backed product features on AWS, GCP, or OpenAI platforms, working in the travel industry, DevOps experience with AWS, experience on high-performing Agile teams, or a background contributing to open source projects.

Responsibilities:

• We work with our product team to design, architect, and implement our product.
• We develop product features in Python/Django and/or React for a travel-related web-based product.
• We build integrations between our product and third-party APIs.
• We design, implement, and test system architecture.
• We work in an Agile environment with a strong focus on well-documented code, unit testing, and continuous integration.
• We mentor, coach, and train other colleagues as a domain expert.
