Linux Engineer / Linux Administrator
Job Description
Salary: £112,500 - 112,500 per year
Requirements:- Strong Linux endpoint management experience
- Hands-on experience deploying Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE)
- Experience onboarding Linux devices into Microsoft Intune
- Linux security and endpoint protection expertise
- Ability to create technical documentation and deployment processes
- Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across Linux devices
- Onboard and manage Linux endpoints within Microsoft Intune
- Support the implementation of a managed endpoint security service
- Implement Linux security controls, compliance standards, and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve Linux endpoint and security-related issues
- Produce technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures
- Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure Linux devices are protected and onboarded within project timelines

We are a London-based higher education institution seeking an experienced Linux Administrator / Linux Engineer to join a critical project focused on improving the management and security of our Linux estate. Working alongside an established project team, you will help secure and onboard Linux devices into a managed endpoint security service. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Linux professional with strong security awareness and experience managing enterprise Linux environments. The role is a hybrid contract with one day per week onsite in London, initially for two months with a strong likelihood of extension subject to project requirements. The rate is £450 outside IR35.
