Lead Software Engineer - Client Onboarding
Job Description
Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements:- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Proficiency in Java development with J2EE server technologies, including Web Services, Spring, ORM frameworks, XML, Enterprise Java Beans, and JMS
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and build tooling such as Jenkins, TeamCity, and Maven
- Working knowledge of design patterns, UML, and object-oriented concepts
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Working knowledge of source control management tools such as Bitbucket or equivalent
- Working knowledge of UI technologies including HTML5 and JavaScript
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools in the work environment, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
- Ability to collaborate within a team and build effective working relationships
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Angular or React
- Working knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud technologies
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and new product capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver outcomes aligned to business needs
- Communicate development progress, risks, and dependencies to the team and key stakeholders
- Apply Agile practices to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable builds and deployments
- Use sound object-oriented design and common design patterns to create scalable solutions
- Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team
- Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing practices, and defect resolution
- Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
