Playback Ops Sys Dev Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
• Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
• Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
• Experience in network fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and HTTP
• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
• Experience with automation and version control tools, or experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems and web security
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
• Knowledge of a front-end language such as JavaScript, CSS, or HTML
• Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement systems that support our Live OTT delivery
• Develop tooling and automation to scale our Live Operations
• Grow monitoring capabilities and improve systems reliability
• Develop operational metrics and maintain service level agreements
• Provide escalation support for incoming trouble tickets
• Work with other teams and engineers to integrate into the broader Live Ops environment
• Review operational dashboards and alerts to ensure live services are healthy
• Diagnose and resolve latency spikes, availability drops, and other live service issues
• Enhance automation scripts and improve device monitoring workflows
• Test changes in staging environments to reduce manual intervention during live events
• Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot priority tickets and deploy fixes before major events
• Design monitoring solutions that scale with our growing live sports portfolio
