Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require English working proficiency, as you will work with our team in London.
  • We are looking for a product engineer mindset with a track record of delivering high-quality software that adapts to business and product needs.
  • We need experience with a JVM language such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin, along with Spring Boot.
  • We require experience designing systems from scratch and evolving existing architectures, including serverless and managed cloud solutions.
  • We need hands-on experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures with message brokers such as Kafka.
  • We require experience with monitoring and alerting to support production environments.
  • We need a strong understanding of REST and API-based development.
  • We require experience working with Git flow.
  • We need strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a delivery team and across Product and Operations.
  • We are looking for curiosity, openness to new ideas, and a proactive, collaborative approach.
  • We require demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with clear expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Preferred: experience with DynamoDB and/or Aurora.
  • Preferred: experience in the FinTech sector.
  • Preferred: experience developing a multi-country product with multiple localizations and currencies.
  • We encourage candidates to share a GitHub, Stack Overflow, or app portfolio.
Responsibilities:
  • We work with the Product team to understand user needs and deliver product features using an Agile SDLC.
  • We participate in designing how our architecture evolves to meet our needs.
  • We take ownership of tasks from estimation through release and post-production.
  • We identify, troubleshoot, and resolve prioritised defects.
  • We write tests for all code we deliver and follow best practices and standards to ensure high-quality code.
  • We take ownership of, or assist others with, releases and related processes.
  • We participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and support continuous learning.
  • We share knowledge and participate in skill-share sessions across the team and wider Engineering department.
  • We propose, contribute to, and collaborate on technical initiatives to improve and evolve our codebase and toolset.
  • We focus on solving the root cause of problems rather than only addressing symptoms.
  • We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
  • We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to increase automation value.
