Cyber Security Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in cyber security and platform engineering concepts such as networking, cloud security, CI/CD pipelines, virtualisation, and infrastructure as code
• Software development skills using Linux or WSL
• Experience with SIEM and log routing tools such as Splunk, Sentinel, Cribl, and ELK
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP services
• Proficiency in scripting or programming such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience with IDS/IPS solutions, vulnerability management, and endpoint security
• Ability to meet security clearance requirements, including BPSS and five years of continuous UK address history, with British passport holder status and no dual nationality at the point of application

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage security tools, systems, and processes to protect infrastructure, applications, and data
• Partner with other engineering and security teams to embed security best practices
• Automate security tooling, including SIEM log ingestion
• Manage firewalls within hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
• Conduct security assessments through infrastructure reviews using assessment tooling such as CIS benchmarks
• Support high-priority incidents through on-call availability when required
