Data Governance Consultant

Requirements:

• Experience in enterprise data management and information governance
• Deep expertise in DAMA-based governance practices, including ownership and stewardship models
• Proven track record building target operating models, data policies, governance metrics, and maturity assessment frameworks
• Hands-on experience with metadata management, data lineage mapping, and data cataloguing tools such as Microsoft Purview, Informatica, or Collibra
• Strong understanding of data security frameworks and regulatory compliance, including GDPR
• Solid grounding in standard risk management workflows
• Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level
• UK-based with full right to work in the UK

Responsibilities:

• Establish and embed data governance practices aligned to the DAMA framework
• Define and implement data ownership and stewardship models
• Design and roll out data quality controls across the enterprise
• Work closely with senior business stakeholders to drive adoption and buy-in
• Develop target operating models, data policies, and governance metrics
• Lead data maturity assessments and define frameworks to track progress

We are seeking a Data Governance Consultant / Lead for a remote engagement with occasional travel to our London client site. The role is outside IR35 at £365 per day and is open only to UK-based candidates who hold full right to work in the UK, with no sponsorship available. This is a senior-facing role for a confident practitioner who can help us strengthen governance maturity across the organisation.
