Software Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £90,000 - 130,000 per year
Requirements:- Proficiency in current Java; knowledge of other languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React is a bonus.
- Experience in developing on Linux.
- Appreciation of mocking and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit 5.x (Jupiter).
- Experience with Git version control.
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies using SCRUM.
- Understanding of Oracle/Relational Databases and/or Mongo.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD Pipelines.
- Proficiency in using the Atlassian Suite (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence).
- Understanding of Elasticsearch and Kibana.
- Understanding of Hibernate.
- Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of developing software for cloud deployment, specifically AWS.
- Experience developing software for microservices or serverless architectures.
- Understanding of CI/CD software pipelines for cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with challenges of migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud.
- Understanding of AWS services such as EC2, EKS, Fargate, IAM, S3, Lambda.
- We would also appreciate any of the following qualifications or certifications:
- Oracle Java Certification.
- AWS Certification.
- ISTQB Certification.
- OSCP Certification.
- CCNA Certification.
- As a Software Engineer with us, I will involve you in various crucial tasks such as:
- Conducting software development activities under the direction of your Software Engineering Lead.
- Designing and developing tests to debug software.
- Working with customer requirements to program business/mission applications while utilizing appropriate standards, processes, and tools throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Correcting program errors and preparing operating instructions.
- Documenting program development and analyzing system capabilities to resolve questions regarding program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Championing automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and test automation.
- In this pivotal role, you will help drive innovation and safeguard digital infrastructures in the UK by developing cutting-edge DevSecOps software systems and applications.
