Software Release Manager CI/CD Automation

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong release management experience in a SaaS product environment, managing frequent releases
• Experience improving CI/CD processes in complex environments
• Strong technical knowledge combined with confident communication and sound risk-based decision making
• Ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
• Good technical understanding of Azure DevOps, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code, trunk-based development and GitOps

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of how software is packaged, released and presented to customers within a growing SaaS environment
• Manage day-to-day releases for an assigned product stack
• Coordinate risks, dependencies and release readiness across multiple teams
• Make informed decisions that balance delivery speed, quality, security and business risk
• Assess existing release processes and help establish more consistent, coherent and automated approaches across products and engineering teams
• Reduce manual effort and release toil by improving CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure and release automation
• Embed governance, security and compliance into the delivery process
• Define and improve release readiness criteria, delivery and release metrics, environment promotion models and release health practices
• Build credibility quickly, assess the current estate, form clear recommendations and lead teams towards improved release maturity
• Coach and influence engineering teams to adopt better practices and create a smoother, more reliable release experience

This is a highly visible role involving release management, DevOps, platform tooling, governance, coaching and organisational change, with the chance to shape and modernise release practices across a wider technology estate. We offer a flexible hybrid working model with two days a week in our Reigate office for team meet-ups and stakeholder meetings, and three days working from home.
