Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements:

• Solid commercial experience with C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core development
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, including SQL Server
• Full-stack experience building web pages with ASP.NET Razor
• Good understanding of web UI layout, including HTML and CSS
• Track record of writing secure code and handling sensitive data appropriately
• Sound grasp of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
• Comfortable owning tasks through to completion and collaborating within an agile team
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies is desirable
• Understanding of microservices and event-based architectures is desirable
• Familiarity with HTMX is desirable
• CI/CD experience, ideally with Git, GitHub and GitHub Actions, is desirable
• Experience with Atlassian tooling such as Jira and Confluence is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Build new features and enhancements across an established .NET product, working full-stack from the data layer to the UI
• Write clean, secure, maintainable and well-documented code in line with our coding standards and secure-development practices
• Handle sensitive data responsibly, keeping security and data protection front of mind
• Improve performance and reliability through refactoring, database optimisation and architectural changes
• Take part in the full delivery cycle, including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives, and work with the Product Manager to shape and deliver features
• Triage, maintain and improve core parts of the existing application as our user base grows
