Requirements:

• Strong Data Security background with the ability to operate across both AI and data security disciplines
• Understanding of AI, including emerging AI capabilities and Agentic AI
• Experience working with CTOs and wider technology teams
• Ability to assess how AI developments could impact Data Security
• Ability to translate AI outcomes into actionable requirements for Data Security teams
• Experience defining and embedding controls around AI use cases and capabilities
• Experience with data protection, data controls, data encryption, and database activity monitoring

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary link between AI initiatives and Data Security, assessing how AI developments could impact the function
• Work closely with the CTO and wider technology teams on areas including Agentic AI
• Review AI outcomes and translate their implications into actionable requirements for Data Security teams
• Define and embed appropriate controls around AI use cases and capabilities
• Support capability mapping by identifying emerging patterns, use cases, and associated risks
• Provide advice and guidance to mitigate AI-related data security risks
• Take ownership for translating agreed AI outcomes into production-ready controls and processes
• Work across the wider Data Security landscape, including data protection, data controls, data encryption, and database activity monitoring

We are partnering with a leading financial services client to appoint an AI and Data SME on an initial 6-month contract, largely remote-based with ad hoc travel to Sheffield. This is an inside IR35 role offering £700 per day. The role will provide specialist advice and oversight across emerging AI use cases, ensuring appropriate data security controls, protections, and governance are considered as AI capabilities develop. We are seeking someone who can bridge the gap between emerging AI capabilities and enterprise data security requirements.
