IT Infrastructure Consultant

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience in a senior Infrastructure Engineer, Technical Lead, Consultant, or 3rd Line role
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Experience with VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft 365, Azure, or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and documentation skills
• Able to communicate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and third-party suppliers
• Experience with Nutanix AHV, Aruba, Azure architecture, automation, or cybersecurity principles would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver infrastructure solutions across server, storage, virtualisation, backup, cloud, and identity platforms
• Act as a senior 3rd line escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and problems
• Produce HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, migration documentation, and operational procedures
• Support infrastructure refresh and transformation projects across the IT estate
• Review and challenge supplier-led technical proposals and solutions

We are a well-established organisation investing heavily in infrastructure modernisation, cyber security, cloud technologies, and resilience programmes. This is a 2-year fixed-term contract based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, with a hybrid working pattern after 3 months of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
