Salary: £58,000 - 98,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for someone with a working knowledge of software design, system architecture, software and/or hardware architecture, software and hardware development process constraints, and embedded software testing at module level.
  • We value a working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines.
  • We expect proficiency in design and analysis tools, including an understanding of what can be achieved with them.
  • We need professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk regarding product suitability in a safe and functionally appropriate way.
  • We look for the ability to interpret test results and provide informed opinions or conclusions, including an understanding of measurement uncertainty.
  • We need the ability to identify and manage risk in collaboration with team members.
  • We value someone who can research application issues and products by seeking solutions and information beyond the immediate area, including from suppliers, universities, customers, and related industries.
  • Where required, we need someone able to train others to improve business capability in a specific area and deliver training material.
  • Relevant experience supporting software design, verification, or embedded systems would be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
  • We will have you take responsibility for the on-time delivery and quality of software and associated artefacts for design or verification activities.
  • We will ask you to decompose designs and develop tests and analysis to ensure implementations satisfy allocated requirements.
  • We will have you review and agree high-level software requirements, including their testability.
  • We will ask you to analyse and translate high-level requirements into a validated design for the software component.
  • We will have you capture design constraints and quality attributes that apply to the component.
  • We will ask you to design and implement software components to meet high-level requirements and applicable standards.
  • We will have you allocate software requirements to test vehicles defined in the verification plan.
  • We will ask you to analyse software components for functional behaviour, including modelling and simulation where needed.
  • We will have you analyse verification test results against software requirements.
  • We will ask you to provide targeted testing to support problem investigation, closure, and customer issues.
  • We will have you liaise with other disciplines to understand system capabilities and support effective component design.
  • We will expect you to develop the knowledge needed to advise project teams and to create, search, and reuse knowledge with some guidance.
