AI Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, or Go.
• Experience with generative AI tools such as LangGraph, CrewAI, Hugging Face, or OpenAI APIs.
• Experience building and optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including training, evaluation, and deployment, and LLM-specific challenges such as prompt engineering, latency, cost optimization, hallucinations, and evaluation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps and infrastructure tools such as CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Experience building distributed systems.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with multiple datastores, including SQL and NoSQL.
• Desired: experience building agents and workflows, such as autonomous systems or multi-agent architectures.
• Passion for AI engineering.
• Fluent English proficiency at C2 level.
• Located in London. If you live within commuting distance of our office, you must be able to work in a hybrid arrangement, attending the office at least two or three times a week.
• For remote or hybrid work, you must have a secure home office at your confirmed address, free from background noise and other distractions, and meet our minimum internet speed requirements, which we check during recruitment and again when you join.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, deploy, and monitor AI systems that scale across our business and serve our members globally.
• Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to deliver high-quality working software at a frequent cadence.
• Work hands-on across development, using a you build it, you run it and DevOps approach.
• Ensure software quality through rigorous automated testing and metrics.
• Assess and select appropriate solutions for each task while considering cost implications and timelines.
