Senior Manager Data Science

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Advanced technical expertise in data science, machine learning, or data engineering, including experience with Python and/or R.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and solutions, with Azure and Databricks preferred, as well as DevOps practices and API-driven architectures.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies, including AI agents and their practical applications.
• Proven experience leading analytical projects that leverage large and complex datasets, applying data science, machine learning, and AI techniques to derive actionable insights and support policy.
• Experience delivering business change and production-ready pipelines through new data and technology systems.
• Strong understanding of organisational data and AI transformation.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical projects and teams, set strategy and technical direction, manage staff during a project, and deliver results in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

• Develop and implement cloud-based analytical solutions.
• Build our AI and data science capabilities.
• Provide leadership on key policy projects deploying the latest data science and AI tools.
• As Lead Data Scientist in FSSR, support the professional development of staff.
• Lead and deliver FSSRs Data & AI strategy as part of the broader DGFS agenda.

We are working with the Bank of England, who are growing their presence in Leeds. This is a permanent Senior Manager, Data Science & AI role based in Leeds, with 2-3 days a week in the office. It is an exciting opportunity to help modernise how we use data and analytics to support financial stability analysis across the directorate. This is a new cross-directorate role with excellent benefits and the chance to shape how things are done, influencing both current delivery and the future vision. The salary range is £97,920-£110,160. Sponsorship is not available for this role at this time.
