Software Engineer Senior Level

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Good quality industry experience and the ability to work autonomously at a senior level
• Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle
• Willingness and desire to work within a small, multi-disciplined Integrated Project Team
• Demonstrable, preferably recent industry experience using Ada
• Experience delivering software using agile techniques and tooling such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience with Java would be useful
• Experience developing software for embedded systems
• Past or current experience in heavily regulated industries such as Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, Oil and Gas, or Financial
• A good attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to meet the eligibility requirements for UK security vetting, which may include BPSS, SC, or DV

Responsibilities:

• Develop software across the full Software Development Lifecycle
• Program in Ada for defence and aerospace applications
• Work onsite in our Edinburgh or Newcastle offices
• Create high-quality, robust code
• Fully document and record work products and keep them under configuration management
• Provide plans and progress reports to a supervisor
• Deliver technical reports and documents
• Prepare and present technical presentations to project stakeholders
• Follow project plans and identify key elements within them
• Report clear and concise progress to the software team lead and Project and Engineering management
• Work closely with the Software & Systems team and the rooflab integration team
• Investigate and resolve real integration problems on a complex system
