Senior IT Systems Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience in server infrastructure support and administration
• Solid knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• Eligible to work in the UK as a UK National
• Eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
• Desirable: exposure to HP infrastructure such as Synergy, OneView, and SAN
• Desirable: SharePoint 2016 support and administration
• Desirable: familiarity with Windows Server roles such as DFS, DHCP, DNS, and Clustering
• Desirable: experience with Veeam backup and replication tools
• Desirable: understanding of ITIL principles and service management
• Desirable: basic Linux knowledge

Responsibilities:

• Provide reliable third-line support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues across our secure infrastructure
• Maintain and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory
• Support and enhance our VMware-based virtual infrastructure
• Manage backup and recovery processes using Veeam to ensure data resilience and business continuity
• Keep technical documentation up to date
• Contribute to service stability through proactive maintenance, system improvements, and adherence to change control processes
