Senior IT Systems Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £45,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience in server infrastructure support and administration
- Solid knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
- Eligible to work in the UK as a UK National
- Eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
- Desirable: exposure to HP infrastructure such as Synergy, OneView, and SAN
- Desirable: SharePoint 2016 support and administration
- Desirable: familiarity with Windows Server roles such as DFS, DHCP, DNS, and Clustering
- Desirable: experience with Veeam backup and replication tools
- Desirable: understanding of ITIL principles and service management
- Desirable: basic Linux knowledge
- Provide reliable third-line support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues across our secure infrastructure
- Maintain and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory
- Support and enhance our VMware-based virtual infrastructure
- Manage backup and recovery processes using Veeam to ensure data resilience and business continuity
- Keep technical documentation up to date
- Contribute to service stability through proactive maintenance, system improvements, and adherence to change control processes
