IT Support Technician

Salary: £27,000 - 27,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk or technical support role.
• We need strong verbal and written communication skills.
• We need someone who can organise workloads effectively and manage multiple support requests.
• We require practical experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
• We need a good understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, software and basic network support.
• We are looking for someone who can research technical problems independently and recommend appropriate solutions.
• We need a logical and methodical approach to fault finding and diagnostics.
• We value the ability to work collaboratively within a small team and contribute to wider digital projects.
• Knowledge of Unix or Linux environments is desirable, but not essential.
• We require a full clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities:

• We will expect you to capture, manage and complete IT support tickets within agreed timescales.
• We will expect you to answer support calls and provide clear technical assistance to colleagues.
• We will expect you to deliver remote desktop support and resolve user issues efficiently.
• We will expect you to research, quote and order suitable IT hardware, software and equipment.
• We will expect you to update and maintain IT equipment, devices and network infrastructure.
• We will expect you to diagnose hardware, software and connectivity faults and recommend practical solutions.
• We will expect you to complete hardware maintenance, repairs and upgrades when required.
• We will expect you to create, update and manage user accounts across a range of business systems.
• We will expect you to carry out quality assurance testing of new systems, updates and digital tools.
• We will expect you to deliver and collect equipment and supplies between teams and company locations.

We are a leading UK technical training provider operating across multiple specialist training centres. This IT Support Technician role is based at our York head office within a small, friendly and collaborative Digital team, with occasional travel to our Slough and Livingston locations. The role offers a salary of £27,500 per annum and a varied workload covering user support, equipment management, systems testing and wider digital projects. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:45am to 5:30pm and Friday from 8:45am to 5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
