Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems

Salary: £54,000 - 94,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience with modern C++ (C++14/17 and above)
• Experience delivering software in safety- and quality-driven domains such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, medical, or military
• Experience with embedded systems and resource-constrained computing environments
• Expertise with a range of computing architectures, including SoC, MCU, and CPU
• Knowledge and experience with RTOS and POSIX/Linux operating systems
• Knowledge and experience with embedded systems interfaces and protocols, including SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, and MIPI
• Considerable background developing complex software with modern C++ for embedded systems
• Preferred: Knowledge and working experience in C and Python
• Preferred: Linux kernel and Linux driver development experience
• Preferred: Knowledge or experience with safety standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21448, IEC 61508, DO-178, or ECSS-Q-ST-80, and security standards such as ISO 21434
• Passion for technology and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Implement, deliver, and refine Arene SDK software components so users can interact seamlessly with vehicle systems
• Design and implement abstraction layers for hardware-agnostic software platforms using modern C++ concepts
• Collaborate with global teams to accelerate and improve Arene software development
