Vulnerability Researcher Internship – Summer 2027

Salary: £30,500 - 50,500 per year

Requirements:

• Passion for cybersecurity and a genuine interest in bug hunting, with familiarity with recent vulnerabilities
• Desire to solve difficult and complex problems
• Knowledge of vulnerability types, such as stack or heap overflows and use-after-free, and common mitigations
• Familiarity with one or more high-level languages, such as C, C++ or Java
• An active interest in cybersecurity and foundational knowledge in several relevant areas, which may include vulnerability research, scripting with Python, Linux and shell, networking, reverse engineering with Ghidra, ethical hacking, Capture the Flag challenges, Android and adb shell, or hardware hacking
• Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with others

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with peers in small teams, usually of two to three people
• Take on research projects designed to provide insight into the work we deliver for clients
• Tackle real-world technical demands and unsolved research challenges
• Develop bespoke research and capabilities for our clients

Our mission at CoreTech Security is to deliver high-end security research and bespoke solutions to cybersecurity clients in the UK. We have a research team of vulnerability researchers, reverse engineers and high-assurance software engineers, with a focus on mobile and embedded technology. Our team uses Ghidra for reverse engineering and produces proof-of-concept work in languages suited to each project, including C, C++, Python and assembly. We are recruiting talented students for a paid summer 2027 internship. Students entering their final year in 2027 may be offered a contract for our 2028 graduate intake after completing the internship.
