Programmable Elements Assurance Engineer

Salary: £145,600 - 145,600 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of DO-178B, DO-178C and DO-254.
• Knowledge of other standards such as Def Stan 00-55, Def Stan 00-56 and ARP4754A is a bonus.
• Knowledge of aviation safety processes, including hazard analysis and the generation of safety cases, would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Ability to evaluate complex situations and systems and present well-reasoned recommendations based on information assimilated from a number of technical sources including documentation and expert advice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to describe and summarise complex safety related considerations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Review supplier deliverables.
• Attend design reviews.
• Produce PE assurance reports.
• Provide SME support to other LH departments.
• Plan future PE activity in support of management.
• Deliver software and/or airborne electronic hardware assurance activities for UK-based helicopter programmes.
• Provide independent technical evidence and argument for internally developed LH systems and supplier-provided systems with PE to give confidence that these systems have been developed to the required standards.

We are recruiting a Software Assurance Engineer for a remote role based in Yeovil, with a rate of £70 per hour via umbrella inside IR35 and an initial duration of 6 months. The role focuses on technical delivery for software and/or airborne electronic hardware, collectively referred to as Programmable Elements (PE), assurance activities on UK-based helicopter programmes. We provide independent technical evidence and argument for internally developed LH systems and supplier-provided systems with PE to help ensure they have been developed to the required standards.
