Business Analyst, Business Intelligence
Job Description
Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements:- We require 3-4+ years experience in hands-on business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management, with experience in professional services preferred.
- Experience in gathering requirements and delivering projects for reporting, analytical projects, and more advanced BI opportunities such as predictive models is preferred.
- We value an understanding of both the global economic environment and local markets relevant to our business, including familiarity with our key clients, geographies, and industries.
- We require strong interpersonal skills, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- We are looking for a flexible self-starter who is comfortable tackling new projects independently while also taking direction from senior staff.
- We require the ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.
- We require the ability to work independently in a team environment, effectively manage time and tight deadlines, and multitask.
- We expect comfort writing or reviewing basic SQL to validate logic and data.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Databricks is required.
- We partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into actionable solutions, and champion the adoption and development of BI tools and best practices.
- We understand the key drivers of the firm from both a business of law and a practice of law perspective to help stakeholders join the dots on their data and BI requirements.
- We independently lead and manage end-to-end BI and analysis projects with multi-skilled teams, fostering a data-driven culture and ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
- We engage with stakeholders to define, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and guide them on how data, analytics, and BI tools can solve business problems.
- We elicit pain points, process gaps, and improvement opportunities, then translate business challenges into clear, actionable work items for development.
- We collaborate with shared services and cross-functional teams to innovate and optimize business processes, leveraging BI and legal AI capabilities.
- We apply Agile project management practices, including participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure transparency, adaptability, and iterative delivery.
- We support data quality initiatives, including data lineage, metadata management, and remediation of data issues.
- We identify and document data pain points and work closely with developers and data engineers to communicate proactively within the BI group and recommend innovative solutions.
- We support change management activities for new or enhanced BI solutions, including stakeholder communications, training support, hypercare, and tracking adoption and usage metrics.
- We drive engagement with BI tools such as Power BI through targeted training, outreach, and enablement programs.
- We deliver demos, create user guides, and identify new project opportunities to maximize tool adoption and business value.
- We gather and incorporate user feedback in Agile cycles to continuously improve BI solutions and user experience.
- We monitor industry trends, particularly in legal AI and analytics, to ensure we remain at the forefront of BI capabilities.
