Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £40,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- Around 1 to 3 years of analytics engineering experience or experience in a similar role
- Strong SQL skills, including reading, writing, debugging and critically reviewing queries, including AI-generated ones
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Looker, AWS or GCP
- Experience with version control using Git
- Ideally some Python experience for data or analytics engineering tasks
- Strong problem-solving instincts and meticulous attention to detail
- Commercial curiosity and an interest in connecting data work to business outcomes
- An AI-first mindset, with curiosity, willingness to experiment quickly and ownership of learning fast
- Translate business needs into clear, well-scoped requirements
- Build and maintain robust data models and exposures in dbt, Snowflake and Looker
- Review and debug SQL critically, including AI-generated code, and document decisions and trade-offs
- Extend trust infrastructure through tests, data contracts and observability
- Integrate data from third-party sources such as Amplitude, Segment and Google Ads
- Create secure, efficient data shares for external partners
- Enable self-service in BI tools so business users can answer their own questions
- Improve the data platform, tooling and ways of working, including how the team uses AI
