In 2015, we pioneered a “moneyball for biotech” approach, pooling projects and promising early-stage research from academia together under one financial umbrella to reduce risk and unleash innovation. This model allows science and small teams of experts to lead the way. We build bridges to groundbreaking advancements in rare disease, and develop life-changing medicines for patients with unmet needs as fast as humanly possible.

Together we define white space, push boundaries, and empower people to solve problems. If you're someone who defies convention, join us and work alongside some of the most respected minds in the industry. Together, we'll ask "why not?" and help reengineer the future of biopharma. At BridgeBio, we value curiosity and experimentation—including the ethical & thoughtful use of AI to improve clarity, speed, and quality of work.

What You'll Do

As Associate Director, Medical Advisor, EU West, you will report to the Medical Director EU West and provide scientific leadership for three rare-disease launch programs in achondroplasia, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, and genetic hypocalcaemia. You will translate global strategy into a focused country medical plan, build trusted partnerships across the French rare-disease ecosystem, and ensure high-quality, compliant execution in an agile affiliate environment. The main focus will be France.

Responsibilities

  • Medical strategy and execution: Co-develop and execute the France Medical Affairs plan for the three portfolio programs, with clear priorities, milestones, KPIs, resource needs, and budget assumptions
  • Scientific leadership: Maintain deep expertise in the diseases, patient journeys, standards of care, competitive environment, and emerging evidence; translate complex data into accurate and relevant scientific narratives for French stakeholders
  • External engagement: Build and sustain peer-to-peer relationships with key experts, multidisciplinary care teams, scientific societies, rare-disease networks, and patient organizations while preserving the independence and integrity of scientific exchange
  • Expert and center mapping: Identify and segment relevant centers and stakeholders, characterize referral and treatment pathways, and help quantify patient populations and unmet medical needs across France
  • Medical insights: Capture, document, analyze, and communicate actionable field insights to the local and global organization, and close the loop by showing how validated insights inform strategy and execution
  • Scientific exchange and education: Deliver balanced, non-promotional scientific exchange; lead advisory boards, expert meetings, congress activities, internal training, and other medical education initiatives
  • Evidence generation: Contribute to the local evidence plan, including real-world evidence, registries, epidemiology, outcomes research, collaborative studies, and investigator-sponsored research; support protocol and publication review as appropriate
  • Launch and access readiness: Support pre-launch and launch activities by clarifying unmet need, patient identification and referral pathways, multidisciplinary care requirements, and evidence gaps; contribute medical input to early or compassionate access activities when applicable
  • Medical review: Provide robust medical review of scientific, educational, market access, and promotional materials through the appropriate review process, ensuring scientific accuracy, fair balance, and consistency with approved information and company standards
  • Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Commercial, Patient Advocacy, Pharmacovigilance, Compliance, and global or regional Medical Affairs while maintaining the appropriate separation between medical and promotional activities
  • Safety and quality: Identify and report adverse events, product complaints, and other safety information within required timelines; maintain complete documentation and complete all required training

Where You'll Work

  • This is a France-based role with the Paris area as the designated office location.
  • Regular travel across France is expected, with periodic travel to the International Headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, and to other countries in the Europe West region (Belgium, Netherlands, Eastern Europe)

Who You Are

  • MD, PharmD, PhD, or another advanced scientific or healthcare degree
  • At least 3-5 years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including meaningful experience in France
  • Demonstrated ability to engage healthcare professionals in high-quality scientific exchange and to convert field insights into medical actions
  • Experience developing and executing country medical plans, preferably in a launch or pre-launch setting
  • Sound understanding of the French healthcare system, hospital and expert-center environment, and the compliance framework governing interactions with healthcare stakeholders
  • Strong scientific writing, presentation, and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage several priorities in a small, fast-moving organization
  • Fluent French and professional English, both written and spoken

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in rare diseases and at least one of the following areas: skeletal dysplasia or pediatrics, neuromuscular disease, endocrinology, or mineral metabolism
  • Established relationships with French rare-disease expert centers, networks, scientific societies, or patient organizations
  • Experience with real-world evidence, investigator-sponsored research, publications, or early access programs
  • Experience in a biotechnology company or an affiliate being built from the ground up

Expected Attributes

  • Operate independently and quickly, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and methodological rigor
  • Patient-centered judgment and high ethical standards
  • Ability to prioritize across products, stakeholders, and geographies
  • Compelling communication in both French and English
  • Directness, clarity, and constructive collaboration in all exchanges
