Job Description

Salary: £34,000 - 63,000 per year

Requirements:
  • High proficiency in C and C++.
  • Experience with cross-compiling and debugging on embedded targets.
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux, including Yocto and Buildroot.
  • Proficiency in real-time software design and RTOS concepts.
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows, Git, and containerised development environments.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools, hardware interfaces, and safety analysis techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate within a wider team.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Rust is desirable.
  • Experience with aerospace systems or similar high-reliability domains is desirable.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards such as ARP4754, ARINC 653, DO-254, and DO-248 is desirable.
  • Understanding of hardware/software integration and hardware-in-the-loop testing is desirable.
  • Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
Responsibilities:
  • Derive requirements, produce software architecture, develop test specifications, and perform coding, debugging, and testing across a variety of platforms.
  • Carry out requirements definition, design, development, and verification for software at a range of integrity levels, from safety critical to proof of concept.
  • Write code to internal coding standards and deliver high-quality, robust solutions.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Debug software in embedded environments.
  • Participate in all phases of the full software development lifecycle.
