Salary: £51,000 - 91,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and proven hands-on coding experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or related roles, including building and maintaining complex cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS, Kubernetes (GKE or EKS), and Terraform.
  • Expertise in building scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
  • Coding proficiency in Go, TypeScript, or another relevant language, including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD or Atlantis, and a strong understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack, and using them to diagnose performance issues.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Self-organized, goal-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
  • Prior experience working on platform engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with peers through code reviews, mentorship, and shared technical direction; support feature teams in adopting platform features.
  • Architect, design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, including reusable modules, testing, and predictable provisioning.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize Kubernetes clusters on GCP (GKE) and AWS (EKS), including node groups, network policies, service meshes, upgrades, availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD systems for platform components, integrating tools such as Argo CD or Atlantis and improving build, release, and deployment processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve platform issues, analyze logs and metrics, address root causes, and contribute to incident response plans and post-mortems.
  • Automate operational tasks, including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring, to improve reliability and reduce manual work.
  • Partner with development teams to understand infrastructure and developer experience needs, advise on platform capabilities, and shape platform features and roadmaps.
  • Design, code, test, and deploy internal platform tools, services, and APIs that improve self-service and developer productivity.
  • Implement and enforce platform security practices, including access control, vulnerability management, and encryption; support compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and GDPR and conduct security audits and penetration testing.
